Who Should Apply

Academic and Vocational

Application for the scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors who meet the residency requirements and have plans to pursue a continued education during the fall following high school graduation at an accredited academic or vocational college or state law enforcement academy.


Bestowment and participation is not limited to the following, but students pursuing the following studies are encouraged to apply: criminal justice-related vocation or major, engineering major, computer science major, auto mechanics or manufacturing vocation, auto-industry major, medical-related major, animal-related major, history major, and male students pursuing a major in Bible Studies at Freed-Hardeman University, Harding University, or Faulkner University.


Student applicants must be in good standing with their school and carry no less than a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Contact us in special circumstances regarding GPA. Also, if a student has a current IEP with their school system that allows him or her to provide verbal essays in lieu of a written essay, please let us know. Alert us at kristie@therooftree.org.
